I've been drawing momentary art on window fog/
I don't carve my thoughts or feelings into weeping willow bark/
I'd trade this endless noisy forest for a single log/
to split, and divvy up into a million walls to build upon/
the limo's parked in the pond, I guess I took a turn wrong/
and I forgot the keys, you can see the rocks that we're on/
have all been covered in moss, and I got lost in the leaves/
but you're were all that I needed, I sing your song to the trees/
before they topple like dominoes/
dragged about wrapped in chains, talks of towns is inaudible/
when I board up this place with the remnants of the forest/
our old "welcome home" mat, becomes the entrance to the fortress, I'm formless/
I just hide behind my fail-safe fortress walls
x3
the only way that I can get out the storm/
I've the seen the way the boats get swallowed up whole/
the way the cliffs give out and fail for those who want to oppose/
the way the winds pin the down the frail and weak willed so I won't let it happen/
weld the hatches shut and made a gateway on the easel/
but I can't escape the headaches or the knocks at the door/
that may or may not be happening, I won't fall on my sword/
I'll just gorge out of habit, eating to cram the thoughts down/
and memories of you, but by myself is with the wrong crowd/
the blueprints drawn out, I've got to reinforce the roof/
because the weekend storms are brutal in here, being short of you/
it's not healthy I know it, but I'll feel the same in the morning/
and it's so stupid to say it but I feel safe in the fortress/
